About the exhibition:

Fragile Discipline, held May 5, 2025, at the School of Visual Arts, 335 West 16th Street, New York, NY, was presented during SVA’s Open Studios as Jimmy Johnson’s BFA thesis exhibition. The body of work examines the visual logic of white Christian nationalism, where spectacle, belief, and consumer aesthetics converge. Drawing from meme culture, digital kitsch, and American iconography, the exhibition explores how design and imagery reinforce coercive ideologies beneath the surface of everyday life.
